According to Peter Waszkiewicz, CEO of Randolph, the company views that their customers take their eyewear very seriously, perhaps even life saving, so the firm recently introduced a maintenance kit for each set of eyewear. “It made sense for us to add this feature to our product lines as it is a statement of just how serious we take the commitment that people make to wearing our eyewear. Randolph is not chosen because of fads or some styling wave. Our glasses have a serious role to play in people’s lives – at home and at work – thus we chose to develop this kit as part of the total commitment we make to our customers”…said Waszkiewicz.
Each Equipment Maintenance Kit includes an optical screwdriver, an extra pair of nose pads, and extra screws. “The need for this kit arose because of the durability of our glasses”, Waszkiewicz said. “The construction of our glasses is of such high quality that our customers were wearing through their nose pads. This is not an issue with most sunglass manufacturers, but we consider this kit to be a point of pride” he said.
“Our field testing interviews found that high performance people demand the same of the equipment they use. The simple fact is that when a life might be at stake, either in the air or on the ground, our customers will never have to worry that their Serious Equipment will fail them because the tools in the kit will keep their equipment in top order”, added Waszkiewicz.
“Sometimes, that edge spells the difference in lethal performance.”

This holiday season, give the gift of Randolph Eyewear.  Randolph makes durable frames tested for over 20 years by the U.S. military.  And hollywood celebrities have started to wear Randolph's also.

www.randolpheyewear.com

This style of aviator sunglasses was made famous by the photograph of General Douglas MacArthur when he was photographed returning to the Philippines as he promised after the Japanese were pushed back into the jungles. These timeless aviator sunglasses have been popular for many years, and continue to be the sunglasses choice of style by celebrities and move stars. Concorde sunglasses can be seen in movies like “Top Gun”, “Apocalypse Now” and many others, worn by movie stars like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.
They provide full eye coverage and are reminiscent of the Foster Grant style which originated in the 1930′s and first became available to the general public through a Woolworths’ store on the boardwalk at Atlantic City, NJ.
MacArthur wore gold frame skull temple AGX (slight green tint) aviator sunglasses in the photograph on the left, but today you can choose different frame finishes, temples and lens tints with our Randolph Concorde sunglasses.
All of Randolph Engineering’s Concorde aviator sunglasses have lenses which absorb 98 to 100% of harmful ultraviolet light while allowing a range of 12 to 18% of visible light to pass through the lens. The premium mineral glass lenses are precision ground and chemically tempered to provide excellent impact resistance which exceeds the ANSI Z-803 standard.

Randolph Eyewear sunglasses are the only glasses you will ever need to buy again.  With a lifetime warranty on each and every pair, you can rely on Randolph Eyewear and their products.  They have all the classic styles, made mostly by hand in the USA.

Randolph Aviator Sunglasses - Number One Holiday Gift Idea

Randolph has been producing top quality aviator eyewear since 1972.  For almost 35 years, Randolph eyewear sunglasses have been standard issue to U.S. military aviators.  It is also standard military issue of many air forces around the world.

Seen in countless movies over the years ranging from Top Gun, to most recently Flight of the Phoenix worn by actor Dennis Quaid, Randolph Engineering has never paid for product inclusion in movies.  That's because when producers and directors want authenticity in their movies, they select Randolph aviator sunglasses.  Others may claim to be "military aviators", but only one company is the prime contract supplier to the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, NASA and Army... and that's Randolph Engineering.
Made in the USA - All Randolph products have been meticulously handcrafted at their facility in Randolph, Massachusetts since 1972.  Utilizing only the finest materials available to the industry, Randolph's  American craftsmen and women bring to you one of the world's best sunglasses.  Over the years, Randolph has retained an integrated manufacturing approach with the end benefit being a level of American made quality, craftsmanship and comfort unequaled in the industry.

FRAMES

RX Quality:
All Randolph frames are built to ophthalmic quality standards.  Due to these demanding standards, Randolph frames are suitable for conversion to Rx prescription lenses in all their models.

Lifetime Solder Joint Guarantee:
Randolph feels so strongly about it's quality that they will repair or replace any broken solder joint for the lifetime of the product assuming normal use.  We talked with one of Randolph's management recently and they told us quite proudly of a customer who returned his 19-year-old Randolph aviator sunglass for a broken solder joint.  Randolph took care of the customer, no charge.

Randolph Design:
All Randolph products are designed and manufactured with quality, function, and performance as the key components.  We then wrap this technology into a classic or contemporary design that will give customers years of satisfaction.  Randolph designs incorporate a high degree of comfort resulting in hours of extended wear.  While fashion may fade in and out of the consumer marketplace, the quality found in Randolph product will never go out of style.

Randolph Materials:
Randolph's 18% nickel silver frames provide unequaled strength and solder joint integrity.  The sleek monel frames offer a slender profile and secure fit.  They do not compromise quality even when selecting something as trivial as a lens screw.  The nose pads are made of soft silicone so that the frames will not slip even under conditions of heavy perspiration.

Frame Finishes:
Every frame is hand polished prior to plating or coloration.  The gold frames incorporate a heavy 23 karat gold plate; the matte black finishes consist of a durable three step process; state of the art gold and silver finishes are applied on selected fashion styles; and our elegant Ruthenium (gun metal) finish will last a lifetime.  All frames are topped off with corrosion resistant clear coat that further protects the product.

LENSES

Mineral Crown Glass Lenses:
Randolph's mineral lenses are ground and polished to precise optical distortion-free standards.  Optically ground glass lenses provide the highest level of visual acuity, which is why it's used in high quality cameras and telescopes.  Glass lenses offer the best scratch resistant properties of all lens materials.  In addition, every Randolph glass lens is chem-tempered to resist breakage; then 100% drop-ball tested to meet FDA and ANSI standards (glass lenses are not shatterproof).  Randolph offers three lens colors on selected modes; Neutral Gray, AGX (gray/green) and a High Contrast Tan.

Maximum UV Absorption:
All lenses absorb 98-100% of harmful ultraviolet rays.

Maximum Glare Reduction:
Lenses are designed to help check harsh direct or indirect glare.

Optimum Visible Transmittance:
Lens densities (darkness) allow only 15-18% of pass-through light; the ideal comfort level for most wearers, and the recommended light transmission for military and commercial pilots.

Neutral Gray Mineral (US Military Issue):
Randolph Neutral Gray lenses offers absolute true color reception.  Worn by U.S. Military pilots and NASA astronauts; colors come through naturally resulting in hours of comfort.  Light reaches the eye with the same color compositions that it had before passing through the lens.

High Contrast Tan Mineral:
Randolph Tan lenses, although lacking the neutrality of gray and green lenses, are also widely accepted of those needing eye protection on bright overcast days.  This lens will cut off the transmittance of easily scattered blue light, thus having the effect of increasing contrast and visual acuity.  This lens will perform well in low light situations encountered in haze and fog.

AGX (gray/green) Mineral:
Known as the "All American Gray", this lens has a slight green tint to it, making it the most popular sunglass tint on the market.  AGX selectively filters the colors of the spectrum so that their transmittance curve closely resembles the sensitivity curve of the eye.  Thus colors are only slightly changed.  Evidence indicates that the eye's focusing system is largely keyed to the green wavelengths of the spectrum.  Because green and gray lenses do not shift the color balance away from green they do not disturb the eye's focusing system.  The result?  Vision stays sharp through lenses of these colors.

This holiday shopping season, give your guy a gift that he will always keep with him and use everyday.  The classic aviator, from the original in aviators, Randolph Eyewear!
He will love these glasses because they are the same ones the military uses every day.  These sunglasses are really built to last.

Choosing Quality Sunglasses makes a BIG Difference!

Flying grit from off-roading or yard work, chemicals in pools, a sun that sears delicate tissues -- summer is an obstacle course for your precious eyes. You can still have fun, but you may need to take some steps to protect your peepers.
A lot of this is common sense, which, sadly, is not always so common.

1. Wear Sun Protection!!!  Take it from an emergency room doctor. Eyewise, he has seen it all. Here are some top recommendations from several experts.
"A lot of people come to the ER with burned corneas each summer," Richard O'Brien, MD, an emergency physician with the Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, Penn., tells WebMD.
"We have a lot of NASCAR up here. You'd be amazed how many people go to that, a concert, or other all-day event without wearing a visor cap and sunglasses. They even lie on their shiny RVs -- that is like being in a tanning booth.

"They are fine at first, then go home, go to sleep, and wake up in an hour in excruciating pain. I have had people come in here crying."
The sun, of course, shoots out rays of different lengths. The most damaging are the ultraviolet rays, which are classified as UVA and UVB.
"Most decent sunglasses," Richard Bensinger, MD, an ophthalmologist in private practice in Seattle, tells WebMD, "protect against UVB. If they also protect against UVA, it should say so on them."
Sunglasses may be one thing you don't want to get at the Dollar Store, O'Brien observes. They should be close to the face or wraparound. Some people like dark tints, but the UV-blocking coating is the same on any color. Polarized lenses may be more comfortable for workers outside because they block glare.
Too much ultraviolet can accelerate the formation of cataracts, Bensinger adds. "There are very solid studies that show this; people who stayed in the sun tended to get cataracts eight to 10 years before a carefully selected group that was mostly in the shade or indoors."
The hat-sunglasses combo should also be worn at the beach, amusement parks, bike rides, boating, or anyplace where there is prolonged sun exposure, O'Brien cautions.
And don't forget the little ones -- they need the same.

For a great pair of sunglasses I suggest Randolph Eyewear.  Randolph makes sunglasses for the US military, so you know they are no joke.  These sunglasses are tough and made to last.  The company even insures these glasses solder joints for life.
You really cant go wrong with a pair of sunglasses from Randolph Eyewear.  They are American Made, using the best materials possible.  There are many styles available, and these are the frames that will never go out of fashion.  Randolph Eyewear is just superior.

Randolph Eyewear - Aviator Style

Randolph Eyewear

STYLE
As Winter peeks around the corner, peek back in style while protecting your eyes.Randolph Eyewear aviators ($129) were first brought to my attention by Michael Bastian (they are one of his five summer essentials for every guy’s closet). It is a solid aviator by an outfit who’s been supplying sunglasses to the U.S. Military and Air Forces world wide since 1982. They’re meticulously handcrafted in the United States using only the finest materials. Though lightweight, they feel like they could withstand mission after mission over Iraq...because they do. It’s a no brainer for guys. But for the ladies? Absolutely. You can customize frame, lens and temple configurations, ensuring a proper fit for your smaller frame.
The concorde is a popular choice for women.  The curved teardrop shape conforms great to a women's face.  And dont forget, Randolph gives a lifetime warranty on all solder joints.

I’ve worn the same pair of RE Concorde aviators for years and they are hands down the best aviators available. Spend the extra money - your eyes will thank you.

I have smashed them flat w/o breaking the lenses, and bent them back into shape.  The best made sunglasses I have ever owned.
