Randolph Sunglasses are quality frames and lenses that will protect your eyes!

They may be great fashion accessories but, more importantly, sunglasses are of extreme importance when it comes to maintaining good eye health.  Randolph Eyewear is a company that knows about eye care.  They are a United States based company that makes sunglasses for the U.S. military in their factory by hand.

Dr. Kerry Beebe, O.D., gives his patients two reasons – health and comfort — when explaining why they should wear sunglasses.
“From a health standpoint, you want to keep all ultraviolet light from getting into your eyes and onto the lids and the skin around them,” said Beebe, “From a comfort standpoint, some people are very sensitive to brightness and glare. By cutting down brightness and glare, people will visually perform better and be more comfortable.”
Beebe said sunglasses protect the eyes from painful sunburns and may help slow down cataracts and macular degeneration. Also, the skin around the eyes, including the lids, is one of the most prone to skin cancer.
“So certainly protecting the skin around the eyes with UV-filtering sunglasses is a good way to prevent skin cancer in that area,” he said.
From a comfort standpoint, polarized lenses are the most effective lenses for blocking glare. However, they can be inhibitive to people playing outdoor sports like golf.
Although buying sunglasses from a doctor’s office is the best guarantee of getting a pair of sunglasses that are effective in protecting eyes from ultraviolet rays, some low-cost sunglasses are now carrying optometric “seals of acceptance,” which guarantee their effectiveness.
“You don’t necessarily have to have the expensive glasses to block out UV rays,” Beebe said. “A lot of times the expense comes from the quality of the frames and the optics of the lens. Some lenses are optically ground and are much more distortion free than other glasses that have more of pressed lens where there may be more distortion.”

Reasons to Wear Sunglasses
1.) UV Protection. The sun's UV radiation can cause cataracts; benign growths on the eye's surface, sometimes called snow blindness, which is a temporary but painful sunburn of the eye's surface. Wide-brimmed hats and caps can block about 50 percent of UV radiation from the eyes but optometrists say that is not enough protection.
2.) Blue-Light Protection. Long-term exposure to the blue and violet portion of the solar spectrum has been implicated as a risk factor formacular degeneration, especially for individuals that are “sun sensitive.”
3.) Comfortable vision. The sun's brightness and glare interferes with comfortable vision and the ability to see clearly by causing people to squint and the eyes to water.
4.) Dark adaptation. Spending just two or three hours in bright sunlight can hamper the eyes' ability to adapt quickly to nighttime or indoor light levels. This can make driving at night after spending a day in the sun more hazardous.
5.) Skin Cancer. Cancer of the eyelids and skin around the eyes is more common than people think. People should wear sunglasses outdoors whether they are working, driving, participating in sports, taking a walk, running errands or doing anything in the sun.
Five Tips for Healthy Eyes
1.) Wear protective eyewear any time your eyes are exposed to UV light, even on cloudy days and during winter months.
2.) Look for quality sunglasses that offer good protection. Sunglasses should block out 99 to 100 percent of both UVA and UVB radiation and screen out 75 to 90 percent of visible light.
3.) Check to make sure your sunglass lenses are perfectly matched in color and free of distortions and imperfections.
4.) Purchase gray-colored lenses. They reduce light intensity without altering the color of objects, providing the most natural color vision.  A great brand is Randolph Eyewear.  They have lenses in all different colors, including grey, specifically tailored to the kind of sun exposure you encounter the most.
5.) Don’t forget protection for children and teenagers. They typically spend more time in the sun than adults.

Absolutely perfect fit, what else can I say? The quality of these glasses is beyond compare down to the case. The glass and polarization and perfect and did I mention the fit.... Can't say enough good things about these glasses that I am so glad I pulled the trigger on! True quality American craftsmanship.

Trusted Quality

Waited for two months before my friend took it to me from the States. Waited another couple days because of raining here before I had a chance to wear it. Good shape and quality. Makes eye comfortable. Recommend.
P.S. Leather case is not suitable for you to put your glasses in your pocket and waist bag all the time. A hard crab like case will protect you glasses better more.
EXCELLENT GLASSES!
From  of Hampton, New Hampshire on .
I have had the Sportsman glasses with polarized tan lenses for about 3 weeks now and am very pleased. The craftsmanship is excellent; the glasses look and feel well-built. The lenses are great; crystal clear vision and superb glare reduction. A nice case, lens cloth, and mini-tool kit complete the package. I am very happy with my glasses.

The Aviators
From  of Washinton, DC, Maryland on .
A beautifully made and detailed product - excellent in all regards of manufacture. Light to wear and stylish for most any occassion.

One observation....I have worn B&W for many years. Then I switched to Corning Serengetis when a relative worked in their prototype department - both excellent glasses.

Both had slightly larger lenses offering more eye-cover and especially protection from overhead sun than the Randolph Aviators.

Otherwise I am perfectly happy with this purchase - fast, friendly service!

Old-Time Quality
From  of Palm Bay, Florida on .
I've been wearing high-end sunglasses for 43 years; I remember when Ray Bans' Aviators gold frames were 14 karat and sturdy. Things changed over the years, but after buying Randolph Engineering's 61mm tan polarized Sportsman, I can testify that they have raised the standard higher than way back then. I could be wrong but, I think polarized lenses were only available in plastic. I liked polarizing, but I was a staunch glass lens man. Randolph Engineering's glasses are solid old-time quality, for certain.
really nice

Shooting glasses
From  of Salem,NH, New Hampshire on .
Products are high quality and the tints are fairly complete.
The only issue I have is the lack of a standoff bar to keep glasses from fogging in High humidity. Otherwise there excellent.
 Great Style and Quality

I have these in Gun Metal - they look great - Polarized lenses are perfect for glare. The fit and finish and materials are top notch. Made in USA - can't beat that.

Great fit, great protection. As a long-time RayBan user, I won't be going back. I LOVE these sunglasses.
 Great for Prescription Lenses

Holds thicker, presription lenses solidly. Lenses never come out of frame. Always had problems with lenses fallin out of Ray-Bans.
Superior to Ray-Ban's!
From  of Las Cruces, New Mexico on .
These are outstanding sunglasses! They possess an interesting mix of: style, performance, heritage, quality, and authority. I have received some interesting looks while wearing these sunglasses! The flash mirror tent doesn't necessarily seem reduce brightness and glare any more than perhaps a darker lense. However, the day isn't quite as bright with these glasses on. On a side note, these shades feel indestructible! These are now my favorite pair of sunglasses!
